Top 5 Apps of 2017

Today’s technology can be overwhelming for many, there is definitely both pros and cons. But even more, overwhelming than the technology, is the amount of apps available to download when using your electronic devices. Apps are great things but it is hard to find one that suits your need. This week I have decided to share my top 5 apps for 2017, the ones that have made my life easier or a little more enjoyable.

NetflixI know Netflix has been around for a while now but I have only recently started my subscription to the service. I have always wanted to do so but it wasn’t until we decided to recently get a new internet plan. With a new internet plan full of usage allowance, I decided to sign up to the streaming app. We definitely are not regretting our decision and either are our parents who are happy we are entertained. Lately, I have watched Greenhouse Academy, Haters Back Off Season 1 and Season 2, Stranger Things Season 1 and I have just started season 2.

InstagramI guess you could also call Instagram an oldie but definitely a goodie. I’ve had Instagram for a couple of years now and it is such a great social media platform. Of course, there are always risks online but when used in the correct manner, it is a great app. Its features, of course, have grown, with Instagram Stories becoming a new addition in recent times. Instagram definitely gets a lot of use from me and I believe it’s one of the safer options when it comes to social media.

DropboxI have always been a Google Drive kind of guy but recently I have been testing out Dropbox. I still use Google Drive for storing and managing my school work, but I have found it is quite temperamental when trying to manage video. I deal with a lot of videos due to my school’s news station and I recently gave up on using Google Drive because of its poor abilities. It was then suggested I try Dropbox and I haven’t looked back. Its features work without fault, video uploads and downloads are so simple. It has turned my tantrums with Google Drive around, which I am very happy about, I didn’t really like screaming at my computer/IPad.

SpotifyI think there is a pretty big war between Apple Music and Spotify, not surprising considering they are both designed to do the same thing. I was always an iTunes lover until the whole switch to more streaming solutions happened. Apple Music’s interface become too complicated and annoying to use so I made the switch to Spotify. Ever since I’ve been listening to my tunes without a hiccup. I have only had the premium version a couple of times before reverting back to free. I really don’t have a problem with the occasional ad except for when it says there will be no ads for thirty minutes, then ten minutes later I am told the same thing. Overall it gets a big tick from me!

CanvaI am bringing out a more productive flair when talking about this app which I have to say is brilliantly designed. I actually came across Canva at the start of last year but I had to talk about it in this top 5 because it is so helpful. It is a program and app to help you design all sorts of promotional material. The majority of it is free and it is so easy to use once you get the hang of it. I have made loads of visually appealing posters and social media posts using it and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Canva is a must have when promoting and advertising.

That ends my list of top 5 apps which are not in order because that would be way too difficult. I suggest for you to check any of these apps out if you haven’t already and let me know what your favourite apps are?
